The Industrial Supply Association’s (ISA) highest distinction is the John J. Buckley Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is given annually, and it honors any individual in the MR0P channel for their long-standing service in the industrial supply industry.
Qualified candidates have made significant contributions to the success of the industry and/or their community, and have earned the respect of their associates and peers.
This year, that deserving recipient was our very own, Jack Schron, President and CEO of Jergens Inc. Jack has been president of Jergens since 1978, and his predecessor was his father, Jack Schron, Sr.
Typically, ISA would announce the award recipient leading up to its annual convention & trade show. Due to the many challenges that COVID-19 has yielded, this year's event was re-scheduled for April 20-22, 2021 in Atlanta.
As a result, ISA redirected its efforts toward creating The Channel, a new video series in which ISA discusses strategies and tools that industrial distributors and suppliers need to succeed.
Additionally, due to these challenges, ISA had to get creative when it came to presenting the award to this year’s recipient.
This required ISA President & CEO, Ed Gerber, to visit Jergens headquarters in Cleveland, OH and surprise Jack and the employees with the award at our annual company picnic. In order to play the part, Ed went undercover in full Jergens attire to maintain the element of surprise.
Once the surprise was revealed, Ed had some honorable words for Jack on why he was selected as this year's recipient.
“Every year ISA recognizes a deserving individual that has made a significant contribution to the industry as a whole, to their company, to the community, and to the teammates here. They have also earned the respect of their industry colleagues… Jack is an outstanding individual, someone that we really use as an example of what leadership is and what servant leadership is.”
Thank you Industrial Supply Association for this remarkable honor. This was truly a special day!
