Question: Why did Jergens purchase the assets of the George Whalley Company Cutting Tools and Industrial Supplies Division?
Answer: Jergens purchased the above-mentioned assets of the George Whalley company to take advantage of the experience they have developed growing their business since 1937. It’s Jergens goal to be your resource for technical cutting tool and metal working assistance in the Midwest. By combing Jergens and GW we will be able to better leverage the knowledge and experiences both companies have to better service our customers. This purchase also allows us the opportunity to partner with some of the world best suppliers taking their metal working experience to the market.
Question: How would you describe the vision for the new organization?
Answer: The new organization will be able to provide the technical assistance and service that cannot be supplied by large catalog houses or small local distributors. We will be leveraging the manufacturing experience Jergens has, and the years of industrial distribution GW has to provide documented cost savings, test reports, reduce cycle times, decrease procurement costs, shorten setup time to maximize our customer’s profits. We want to be the first company you think about when you have a problem or a tough applications.
Question: How is the new outside sales team and inside customer service team structured?
Answer: In most cases your current outside sales rep from Jergens or GW will continue to support you. Where changes occur we will make you aware immediately. In addition, we will be integrating Jergens and GW customer service departments to increase the resources available to you. Finally, we will have two Cutting Tool Specialists and one MRO Specialty available to work with our sales team and customers to help reduce cost and increase production.
Question: Will The George Whalley Co. Cutting Tools and Industrial Supplies name be eliminated in the future?
Answer: We are maintaining the George Whalley brand as we continue the integration process. The long term plan for the name is yet to be decided.
Question: Will there be a change in suppliers?
Answer: We expect to maintain all of the suppliers from GW and Jergens Industrial Supply during the integration. If this changes we will let you know immediately and provide recommended replacements.
Question: Will there be a change in pricing to the customer?
Answer: No, at this time we have no plans to change customer pricing unless there is a change in our cost or the suppliers list price.
Question: What are the benefits to you as a customer?
Answer: The customer will now have more technical resources available to them and an expanded staff for quicker response on quotes and order acknowledgments. The supplier base will be expanded so more products can be evaluated and tested. We also hope that the combined purchases from our suppliers will provide us some economies of scale to reduce operating costs and purchase in higher volume, passing these savings on to our customers.
Question: Will my payment term change?
Answer: Your payment term will not change from the 1% 10 net 30.
